The textures of time

"

I was born and raised in Thrissur, Kerala. received a BFA from Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, in 2018, and an MFA from the Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata, in 2020. After graduation, Ipracticed in Baroda for four years. I am currently residing in Kochi, where I continue my practice. I participated in the Kochi-Muziris student Biennale 5th edition. Idid a residency in space studio Vadodara in 2024. These days, I mostly use acrylic to articulate my work. I really like to observe the texture of objects and things. Most of my work comes from this observation. I used the textures to make an image. The image represents what I saw and felt in that moment. I wish the audience could feel my image in their visual experience.

Artist Statement

In my artistic practice, I predominantly employ brush strokes as a primary method of creation. These brush strokes serve as a vehicle for expressing my emotions, thoughts, and energy onto the canvas. Through their dynamic and expressive nature, they convey a visual language that allows me to explore and communicate abstract concepts and raw emotions. Through my work, I aim to capture the essence of things and emotions that cannot be easily described or defined. I am fascinated by the interplay of colors, textures, and movement, and I strive to create compositions that evoke a sense of dynamism and vitality. Recently, Ihave begun incorporating architectural forms into my work, further expanding the visual vocabulary of my artistic expression. These architectural elements introduce a sense of structure, balance, and rhythm into my compositions. In my artistic process, each brush stroke serves as a building block, adding depth, texture, and dimension to the composition. The architectural forms offer a visual anchor, grounding the artwork in a recognizable framework while encouraging viewers to delve into their own interpretations and reflections. In essence, my art is a visual language that connects the viewer to a range of emotions and experiences. Each brush stroke tells a story, and collectively, they form a symphony of movement, energy, and emotion. My hope is that my work inspires curiosity, contemplation, and a sense of connection between the viewer and the artwork.
