Gurdeep Brar, born in Bathinda, Punjab is an Artist working in Delhi, and Pursued his M.F.A From Shiv Nadar IOE, Greater Noida, India, 2023. Engaged with ephemeral materials, His works are in response to the mismanagement of resources, the relationship between man and nature, the misplacement of our priorities, and something that, after reaching its pinnacle, disintegrates and returns to its natural state. Started as a figurative Painter But found more expressive in Sculptural works. Began with Narratives that were once lived realities of people from his region with an opportunity to be more connected through these small neglected stories. What might an artistic practice which utilizes ephemeral materials and unheard stories look like? The Body of Work attempts to answer this question, highlighting what it means to be empathetic as an artist. The themes of death and loss are significant in the practice. These concerns are brought together in sculptural works, site-specific installations, paintings, and photographs. There has always been an urge to understand the sculptural quality of these works and their evolution into contemporary practice. These embrace the transient nature of existence—works and materials are touched by time, showing signs of decay.
