Manjit Gogoi (b.1996, Guwahati, Assam, India) completed his BFA, Sculpture, Govt. College of Art & Crafts, Guwahati, Assam, 2021 and MFA, Sculpture, Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai, Maharashtra, 2023. Manjit, growing up near the eastern edge of Kaziranga National Park, has been deeply engaged with the impact of landscape changes on natural habitats. His work explores how fragmentation, displacement, urbanisation and agricultural expansion disrupt ecosystems, forcing species into conflict and extinction. Rooted in environmental science and geography, his practice examines these transformations through metaphor and material. Through his work, he interrogates the changing landscape, using art as a means of ecological reflection and resistance. Manjit Gogoi lives and works in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
