In this work, I juxtapose the familiar garden landscape of Kerala with elements of colonial architecture. The landscape and ecosystem of Kerala have been continuously reshaped through exchange, migration, and the lasting impact of colonial encounters. Similar patterns of adaptation are visible in the region’s built environment, where local forms blend with imported styles. By fusing these two layers—the natural terrain and the architectural traces of history—I explore how cultural influence, movement, and transformation become embedded in place. The painting reflects on this hybrid visual identity and the complex histories that continue to shape Kerala’s landscape
