The Ancestral Rock is a project inspired by the initiative called the Society to Save Rocks. Established in 1996 in Hyderabad, India, by rock enthusiasts including Frauke Quader, Laxma Goud, M. Hassan, and others, it carries a strong preservation ethos. The project emphasizes the life, memory, and presence of rocks as more than just objects. In my work, it becomes a contribution to giving rocks a voice, exploring their continued existence and vitality. Through this, I aim to show that rocks are living witnesses of time, history, and the natural world.
