Inference Of The Vitruvian Man

2019

Foil Paper, Wire, Colour Dust & Image Transfer on Paper

NA

In this work I am questioning the legacy of Vitruvian man by cutting a life size print of Da Vinci's drawing into 40 random pieces. Digitally rendered simplified lines of the figure are later covered with aluminium foil paper to achieve a luminous and illusive character which varies angel to angel. The central piece is a portion of head covered with netting and around it rest of the pieces are treated with image transfer which are mostly man made impressions used as a texture. The black and white chiaroscuro is to supress the line and demolish the identity of the Vitruvian Man’s. These pieces are future arranged arbitrary within the circle (the divine symbol) and the square (the earthly symbol).
