Songs of Kalinga With every key played, the suburban landscape gradually turns into an urban one. Every keystroke gives rise to a new architectural block emerging from the piano. The multihooded serpent demon represents the Hydra of Greek mythology, symbolizing self-perpetuating and uncontrollable growth. As the figure advances, it destroys the land’s former guardians figures(often symbols of beauty and immortality), asserting dominance over the territory. The visuals can also draw a historical parallel to Nero playing the violin during the Great Fire of Rome. Together, these references critique the relationship between destructive progress, and the transformation of space through power, indifference, and excess.
