Sikhar Dopeher by Gurdeep Singh Brar
Gurdeep Brar
B.
1999
New Delhi

Gurdeep’s practice engages with ephemeral materials to reflect on the fragile relationship between humans and nature, the mismanagement of resources, and the shifting priorities of contemporary life. His works explore cycles of growth, decline, and return, allowing materials to age, decay, and transform over time.
Beginning as a figurative painter, he gradually moved toward sculpture and installation, drawing from overlooked stories and lived experiences from his region. Through sculptural works, site-specific installations, paintings, and photographs, Gurdeep foregrounds themes of empathy, loss, and impermanence, embracing the transient nature of existence.
