“The question of measurement”
As a multimedia artist, I work across sculpture, painting, and installation. I often use found objects, archival material, news images, and photographs to construct imagined, sometimes animal-like forms. These forms are inspired by measuring tools from the past and present, reflecting on systems that classify and control bodies. My work comes from an awareness of how people—especially those from marginalised communities—are constantly judged and defined within social and cultural systems. Through my practice, I try to reclaim erased narratives. I move from the intimacy of home, through ideas of race and social categories, and back again, imagining a more equal, if ideal, future.
I hold a BFA in Sociology and Sculpture and a Master’s in Fine Arts. In 2023, I was an artist-in-residence at Gasworks, London.
