Found materials, displaced belonging

I collect the stories that objects leave behind. Growing up in a small town in Uttar Pradesh and moving between cities for studies and work, I became fascinated by discarded materials, scrap, and everyday objects that carry traces of use and memory, these residues reveal something about a place's identity and the lives that shape it. I gather materials from the sites I encounter, transforming them into sculptural and image-based works, interested in how meaning shifts as objects move from their original contexts. Recently, constant relocation has made me think differently about home and belonging, each move reduces what's mine to two suitcases, prompting me to work with mobility itself as a practice. Historical sites, architecture, and culturally significant landscapes become points of departure in my research, approached as a curious observer returning with photographs, collected objects, and material impressions that evolve into new works.
