“Labour and the body”
Aravind Chedayan is a multidisciplinary artist, folk singer, performer, and illustrator. My work reimagines the lived realities of subaltern life, focusing on labor, the body, environment, sound, and music. Through my practice, I highlight the resilience and cultural expressions of marginalized communities, weaving together oral histories, performance, and visual mediums to interrogate systemic structures. I am the recipient of the AAA–Inlaks Art Grant 2025 and the FICA Emerging Artist Award 2026.
