“Ethnic geometries”
Drawing forms the core of my practice, serving as a bridge to my sculptural work. Inspired by semi-rural settlements, I transform everyday functional structures such as fish traps, bamboo and wooden poles, into abstract designs and three-dimensional detailed diagrams. My work frequently shifts between drawings and sculptures, letting each stand independently. By altering scale and incorporating geometric and ancient script-like symbols, I strip recognizable objects down to their essence to explore the space where architecture, diagram, and material memory meet.
