Gurdeep Brar

As a multimedia artist born in Bathinda, Punjab, I use materials that don't last instead age and decay. This represents the fragile connection between people and nature, and how we often mismanage resources. By exploring cycles of growth, decline, and return, I let my works change naturally over time. Though I began my practice as a figurative painter, I found expression in making sculptures and installations.

Drawing from forgotten stories from my region, my work constantly attempts to capture feelings of empathy, loss, and acceptance. This temporary nature of everything is what I connect to. I have completed my M.F.A. from Shiv Nadar IOE (2023).
