The travel within

With an MFA in painting, my practice is rooted in my life experiences and observations from my train commute between my hometown and college. With a hope for a better lifeI - a migration my own family made from Bihar to Delhi has helped me develop my practice. This often connects to the Hindi phrase: "जितनी चादर है, पैर उतना फैलाओ (Stretch your legs only as far as your blanket reaches)" reflecting the compromises, limited resources, and silent struggles I see every day. For me, the chadar (cloth/shawl) is a powerful symbol of these boundaries. I mainly work on raw and primed canvas, wood-board, and paper, using acrylics, pencil, pen, and water-soluble graphite.
