The political economy of abstraction

Growing up in a migrant working-class community and moving between rural Azamgarh and industrial Ankaleshwar, shaped and helped me develop my practice. I use simple, everyday materials like enamel, cardboard, and packaging - the stuff of labor and circulation to explore ideas of belonging and displacement. While my work often looks like painting or installation, I'm really focused on how these ordinary materials can tell a story of history and negotiation. For me, art is about letting the lived experience and the material world intersect.

I have been the recipient of the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant (2020-21) and have participated in events like the Bamako Encounters (2022) and Something Else at the Citadel (2023).
