Rajaram Naik

I am a multidisciplinary artist exploring how traditional folk theatre, like Jatra, adapts to modern pop culture. My work investigates why younger generations are losing interest and how traditional stories survive through new, hybrid forms. Using paintings, sculptures, installations, and video, I focus on the figure of the monster as a metaphor. I question whether monsters act as protectors or destroyers, and how people label the unknown. Ultimately, my art examines the tension between sacred traditions, kitsch, and everyday life in a changing world.
