“Home unbound”
I was born in a farming family in Jafravad, Gujarat, and was the first to pursue formal higher education, which is why my art explores the tension between village and city life. I use painting to show how these two worlds - rural elements like miniature sheep and farms, and urban energy through spontaneous gestures - intersect in contemporary India.
I won the "Glenfiddich" award for Best Emerging Artist of the Year (2019) and participated in their artist residency program held in Scotland. I have received the All India Grant Award from the P D Art Foundation (2022).
