“A deeper look into the eyes of strangers”
I was born in Jharkhand and studied painting at Maharaja Sayajirao University in Baroda. I make watercolor paintings that are personal. They explore my experiences with disability, social exclusion, and how I navigate the world. Through my work, I often focus on symbols of mobility like shoes and feet by using layered and rich watercolors. This creates nuanced statements on disability's place in our world.
I've had two solo shows, "Stand By Me (2016)" and "Renitent Bodies (2017)" and participated in over 50 group exhibitions. I received a Junior Fellowship by the HRD from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and the Navdeep Pratishthan Award for painting (2010).
