“The loss of land and its identity”
I grew up in a village in Odisha. I live and work in Delhi. The tension between those two worlds is what my practice is built on. I work with watercolour, charcoal, and ink alongside materials - palm leaf, rice paper, banana paper - that carry their own memory of place. My roots are in Odisha’s Patachitra and palm-leaf traditions, and I bring that inheritance into conversations about migration, ecology, and the true cost of urban growth.
I have received a two-year MFA scholarship from IPCA, Bhubaneswar, and awards from the National Dhauli Art Festival, Colour Wave (2014), Kalasakshi (2019), and the 38th Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi Award (2020). The works “Born for Burn II” (2024) and “Time to Return” (2022) were showcased at Dhoomimal gallery.
