Nature's Skin

Working across sculpture, I use materials like stone, metal, and resin to explore human memory, environmental shifts, and social concerns. My early work was shaped by the countryside where I grew up, but my practice is now more personal, guided by instinct and my response to materials. In my current work, I use bark as nature’s skin, marked by time, along with wood and rusted iron to create human-like forms that feel both strong and fragile. My faceless, sometimes broken or hollow figures reflect shared feelings of silence, absence, and displacement, with layered textures that suggest memory.

My first solo show, The Beginning of Love (Triveni Art Gallery, 2011), was followed by a Junior Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture (2020). I have taught sculpture for over a decade at Pearl Academy and Delhi University.
