Subhash Deka

I am deeply connected to nature and the culture I grew up with in Sarthebari, Assam. I use materials like bell metal, brass, and bamboo - traditional to my community, to make sculptures that evoke memory and nostalgia. I see myself in moments like the sway of a banana leaf or the sound of the rain, using these as metaphors in my visual language. My work is an invitation to see the profound connection I have with my childhood landscape.
