“An eternal shelter”
My practice centers on the multifaceted experiences, emotions, and struggles of women across different stages of life. Merging traditional cultural heritage with feminist ideas, my work challenges societal norms while exploring themes of symbiosis and empowerment.
My process is rooted in hands-on material exploration, incorporating natural elements like palm leaves and grass gathered directly from my environment. By interweaving these raw materials with techniques inspired by Odissi dance and traditional weaving, I merge craft and fine art. Through this tactile approach, I create contemporary forms that give new life and value to my heritage and native land of Odisha.
