A living archive of social histories

A contemporary ceramic artist originally from Siwan, Bihar, I work with clay. For me, clay isn't just a material, it's a way to archive social history, memory, and protest. My practice really focuses on drawing attention to social issues, especially how objects like the single-use terracotta chai cup reflect caste stigmas. By elevating these everyday forms into high art, I question social hierarchies and give voice to communities often overlooked. Ultimately, I use clay to blend sculptural beauty with socio-political critique.
