A closer look:
Inspired by the island suburb of Kadamakkudy, near Kochi in Kerala, the work draws from a landscape close to the artist's studio. It represents a region where water occupies much of the terrain, leaving smaller pockets of land for people to inhabit. Through this composition, the artist captures the distinctive relationship between water and habitation that defines the region.
