A closer look:
In my work, I often use sheep as a metaphor for people who remain closely connected to the ground and to the realities of everyday life. I see sheep as resilient beings that constantly move from one place to another in search of better conditions for survival. This movement resonates with the experiences of many rural and village communities, who migrate to cities in search of work, stability, and better opportunities.
Through the image of the sheep, I try to explore this connection between migration, survival, and the search for a better life. The animal becomes a symbolic representation of people who are constantly adapting to changing circumstances while carrying their memories and roots with them.
I also play with the words “Sheep” and “Ship.” Through this connection between the two words, the sheep becomes a metaphor for movement, carrying ideas of migration, displacement, journey, and the hope for a better place.
