As the winter's solstice approaches, the locals spend the shorter days under the sun extracting oil from the apricot kernels. The process involves breaking the kernels with a stone(round shaped one in the image) placing them on another tapered stone which is often been passed down through the generations in every household. The image carries the marks formed though years of this tradition and reflecting the humanity's relationship with the cycle of nature.
